Superbowl XLVI Ads

Superbowl XLVI has been played and won and like in past years the ads that get aired during the superbowl get as much attention as the game itself.

In my opinion this years commercials where OK, I am not going to post links to them all here, just the ads that where what I think the pick of the punch.

Before we get onto my favourite ads, here are the four movie trailers that aired during the game and the biggest, without a doubt, is The Avengers:

Finishing Moves …

The pile of shame.
We all have one … an ever growing tower of games that we have every intention of playing on the first day of release and completing a few weeks down the track.

With so many big games being released each year it’s becoming more and more difficult to finish a game before the “next big thing” is released.

2011 was probably the biggest year in gaming history and being easily distracted by bright, shiny new games I found myself left with an embarassing list of unfinished games.

So, as part of my New Years resolutions i`ve decided to do something about it.

My promise to you, the nerds at large, is that I will finish at least 6 of my unfinished 2011 games during 2012.
The plan is to complete a game from my list each 2 months. ( see below )
I`ll keep you up to date on my progress and post reviews of each game as I complete it.

That`s only 6 games … surely that won`t be difficult.

( hmmm, when is Mass Effect 3 due ? )

Happy (belated) New Year from Alan Moore !!

Alan Moore Thought for the Day  (click the link at the left to listen).

On 31st December 2011 the UK’s BBC Radio Four Today program had the guest editor Stuart Lee.

The regular Thought for the Day segment, usually given to a cleric of some description, was on this occasion given to writer Alan Moore (Watchmen, V for Vendetta, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen) who talks about his worship of the ancient Roman god Glycon, who was almost certainly a sock puppet.

Prometheus Trailer is here!!!

Image

It seems to be the season of prequels lately as Hollywood mine another rich vein of entertainment consumption. But in this case, Prometheus, the prequel to the Aliens francise, was almost a forgone conclusion, when we first discovered the Space Jockey in the original Alien movie. The story is that a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race. Starring Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender and Idris Elba.  Release date: June 1st 2012 Check out the trailer for Ridley Scotts newest project. The music seems familiar, reminiscent of the recent Battleship and Transformers trailers but works well here.
